The owners wanted their home to give the impression of a grand mansion in the manner of the stately homesteads of previous centuries. The living areas are well suited to Queensland's sub-tropical climate with the open plan and easy movement between the outdoor deck and the family/living/kitchen and bar areas.
A special feature of the home is the design of the wet areas which are set up to allow easy adaption in the future for full access by wheelchairs. The owners recognised the need for homes to include such features and also know it will suit them for the rest of their own lives no matter what happens.
